We distinguish data recorded in a demo from views derived by software and judgments made during review. When a field is missing, Memorin shows it as unavailable instead of silently estimating it. No gameplay behaviour in this product is guessed: every ported mechanic comes from extracted game values or from measurement we can reproduce, never from a plausible-sounding number.
What does Memorin do?
Memorin is a CS2 demo viewer that runs in the browser. It parses a Counter-Strike 2 demo on the server, rebuilds the match in real Source 2 map geometry, and lets you review it from any camera or take control of a situation and play it yourself as a Replay Moment.
Concretely, the product covers:
- The 3D demo viewer — ten maps with real extracted geometry and lighting, POV, follow, free, top-down and ten-way multi-POV cameras, x-ray, radar, volumetric smoke, an event timeline and a match review panel with summary, rounds, events and utility.
- Replay Moments — playable situations rebuilt from recorded positions, utility, health and clock, with graded attempts and shareable leaderboards. The daily moment needs no account.
- Utility practice — grenade throwing with the CS2 throw and physics behaviour ported rather than approximated.
- Browser Deathmatch — aim practice against bots without a separate install.
- A first-person skin viewer — inspect finishes with first-person arms, animations, wear and map lighting.
- Walk-the-map mode — move through a map yourself at player height to check a sightline instead of assuming it.
Availability depends on the map, the demo format, the account tier and configured integrations. The product interface is authoritative for current access; a guide page is not.
Recorded, derived and interpreted
- Recorded: state or events read from the supplied demo.
- Derived: timelines, round groupings, score models, replay cameras and summaries calculated from that state.
- Interpreted: tactical explanations or coaching conclusions made by a reviewer.
We label these layers honestly. A derived 3D camera can make a situation understandable without becoming a video capture of the original client. A tactical conclusion can be useful without becoming a fact encoded in the demo. The detailed boundary, including what the sampling rate does and does not permit you to conclude, is in what a CS2 demo analyzer can and cannot tell you.
Why we refuse to estimate gameplay values
This product is a 1:1 port of CS2 behaviour into a browser, and it is built under a standing engineering rule: no gameplay mechanic or constant may be estimated. Movement, shooting, damage, timings and grenade physics come from values extracted from the game's own data or from measurement we can reproduce and check. If neither source is available, the mechanic does not ship.
The reason is practical rather than principled. A guessed constant that is close enough to feel right is the worst possible failure mode: it passes review, it passes casual play, and it silently teaches you a habit that does not transfer back to the game. A Replay Moment whose physics differ from CS2 would train you to be good at Memorin. That is not the product.
The same rule governs this blog. Guide pages here do not state tick rates, damage numbers, movement speeds or grenade constants unless they come from the code or extracted data, which is why several passages describe timing relative to visible events instead of quoting a universal number that would be easier to write and impossible to justify.
Known boundaries
Demo formats and available fields vary. A browser reconstruction can differ from the exact visual, audio and network experience a player had. Demo evidence cannot reveal private intent or attention. Older cached formats expose less gameplay state than newer ones. Unsupported maps or files fail cleanly rather than displaying a partial scene, because a half-loaded map is a worse outcome than a clear error.
These limits are why Memorin should not be treated as an automatic cheating verdict, or as proof of a person's motivation. It is a tool for replaying evidence and conducting informed review.
How we write product claims
Feature claims on Memorin pages correspond to working product paths. We do not publish fabricated user counts, invented endorsements or unsupported superlatives, and we do not describe planned work as though it shipped.
