Privacy and retention

Last updated: 17 July 2026.

Memorin processes your Steam account identifier and profile name, uploaded or imported CS2 demos, match metadata, player identifiers, gameplay events, upload usage counters, and subscription entitlement status to provide private demo playback, review, maps, replay practice, and PRO access control.

Payment card details are not stored by Memorin. Where PRO subscriptions are enabled, checkout and billing are handled by Stripe.

Memorin records privacy-safe product analytics for aggregate feature usage and troubleshooting. Google Analytics receives anonymous custom event names and non-sensitive parameters only. First-party analytics are stored with a hashed internal user identifier where available, a tab-scoped session identifier, page path, event name, and small non-sensitive metadata such as map, mode, device tier, or success/failure status. Demo filenames, Steam IDs, emails, share codes, auth codes, Stripe identifiers, and payment details are not sent to analytics.

Memorin browser extension

When you ask the extension to build a replay, it processes the provider match identifier or demo link you selected, a short-lived provider-authorized demo URL, and a revocable import-only Memorin pairing credential. The extension also stores your auto-build preference. These values are used only to pair the extension, import the requested demo, report import progress, and open the resulting replay.

The pairing credential is stored in protected extension storage and sent only to viewer.memorin.app over HTTPS. Match-site page scripts cannot read it. Short-lived demo URLs are not logged by the extension and are handed directly to Memorin for the requested import. The website receives only a presence signal to hide the extension-install prompt; that signal contains no credential, account state, page URL, or browsing history.

The extension does not collect provider passwords, payment information, personal communications, complete browsing history, or unrelated page content. Extension data is not sold, used for advertising or credit decisions, or used for purposes unrelated to its replay-import function.

Storage and access

Private demos and parsed artifacts are available only to their owning account. Explicit showcase samples are public. Match-history authentication codes are encrypted at rest and are never included in account exports or logs.

Retention

Private demos and derived caches are retained for 30 days on PRO and 48 hours on the free tier; a deployment may publish different configured periods. When a free demo's server copy expires the match record is kept, the stored demo and parsed cache are deleted, and the copy your own browser saved on your device is unaffected — clearing your browser's site data removes it. Incomplete uploads expire after 24 hours. Deleting a demo or account removes its database access, raw upload, parsed cache, pending work, and stored match-history credential, except content-addressed bytes still required by another owner who uploaded identical content.

Your controls

Signed-in users can export their account and gameplay metadata, disconnect match-history import, delete individual demos, or permanently delete their account from the Memorin account panel.
