What is browser Deathmatch?
Deathmatch is the live combat mode, on Mirage only for now. Play solo against bots, open a room of your own, or join an open session. You get the first-person HP, armor, ammo, money and weapon HUD, a live mini leaderboard, awards and a full scoreboard on Tab.
It is not a mini-game added for marketing. It runs on the same movement, shooting, recoil, spread, hit registration, damage and audio as the rest of the site, in the same real map geometry. What is a Replay Moment?
A Replay Moment is a short situation taken from a recorded CS2 demo. You watch the real clip, take control at the decision point, and try to change the outcome. Each attempt is graded S to D and your best score is kept.
It is not a made-up scenario. It is the real 2v1 with the same positions, utility, health and clock. You can also send it to a friend as a challenge link. The training guide shows how to use it.
Can I walk around a CS2 map in a browser?
Yes, and it is free. Open a map with no demo loaded and walk it on foot to check routes, angles and lighting. Ten maps are supported: Ancient, Anubis, Cache, Dust II, Inferno, Mirage, Nuke, Overpass, Train and Vertigo. The map review guide explains what to look for.
There is also a skin viewer. You can view a finish in first person or turn it in 3D.
Is browser Deathmatch good for aim warmup?
It is useful for the parts of a warmup that are about engaging targets and settling your hands, and it takes seconds to start because there is no client to launch. It is not a substitute for practising in the game whose exact feel you are preparing for.
It wins on speed: a tab that is already open removes the launch, the server wait and the excuse. It loses on exact feel. For muscle memory in the client you queue in, practise in that client.
What do I need to play CS2 maps in a browser?
A browser with JavaScript and WebGL, and a mouse. A desktop machine handles a full map far more comfortably than a phone, and the daily moment needs no account at all.
The first time a map loads, its geometry is a large download, so the first round is slower than the second. On a slow connection, start with the daily moment: one situation on one map.
