What is the actual difference?
The two categories are not competing answers to one question. They are answers to two questions that feel similar and are not.
A stats platform parses demos into numbers: performance over time, per-map trends, aggregate tendencies. Those numbers need many matches to mean anything, because a single game is mostly noise. The question they answer well is "am I getting better, and at what". No amount of watching one round answers that.
A 3D demo viewer does the opposite. It takes one match and rebuilds it inside the actual Source 2 map geometry, so you can put the camera where a player stood, look down the angle they were holding, and see the shape of the space they were in. The question it answers well is "why did that round fall apart". No amount of aggregate rating answers that.
| Question you have | Category that answers it |
|---|---|
| Am I improving over the last three months? | Stats platform |
| Which map is dragging my rating down? | Stats platform |
| Why do I keep dying at this one spot? | 3D demo viewer |
| Did that smoke actually block the angle it was meant to? | 3D demo viewer |
| What did the enemy see of me before they shot? | 3D demo viewer |
| Is my opening-duel win rate a real problem? | Stats platform, then a viewer for the duels |
The honest summary is that the numbers tell you where to look and the geometry tells you what you were doing there. Using only the first leaves you with a diagnosis and no treatment. Using only the second leaves you fixing whichever round annoyed you most, which is rarely the round that costs you the most.
How do I open a Leetify match link in 3D?
Yes. A Leetify match link is one of the recognised import formats, alongside FACEIT matchroom links, CS2 share codes and direct demo URLs. Paste it into the import box and the match is resolved, fetched and rebuilt as a 3D replay.
There is one import field rather than a provider picker, and it accepts every form a demo can arrive in:
| What you have | What to do with it |
|---|---|
| Leetify match link | Paste it. |
| FACEIT matchroom link | Paste it. |
CS2 share code (CSGO-…) | Paste it. This is the Premier and matchmaking path. |
A direct link to a .dem file | Paste the URL. |
| A downloaded demo, compressed or not | Drop the file in. .dem, .dem.gz, .dem.zst and .dem.bz2 are read directly. |
What does geometry add that a number cannot?
Geometry. A statistic records that you died holding an angle; standing in that position in rebuilt map geometry shows whether the angle offered cover from the second direction, whether a box changed your head level, and what the attacker could see of you. Position numbers alone cannot answer that.
This is the argument you have had with a teammate, and it is unresolvable on a scoreboard. A 2D radar shows a dot in a place that looks defensible. From that player's eye position in 3D you can often see immediately that the angle was open to a second doorway, or that the crate they were behind put their head at exactly the level someone pre-aims, or that a smoke was thick enough to cover an approach it looked like it should not have covered. Volumetric smoke, x-ray, an overhead radar and a free camera all exist to make that visible rather than arguable.
Memorin rebuilds ten maps this way — de_ancient, de_anubis, de_cache, de_dust2, de_inferno, de_mirage, de_nuke, de_overpass, de_train and de_vertigo — and you can open a map on its own without a demo attached.
The part that is not review at all
There is a third thing a stats page structurally cannot do, and it is the reason this product exists rather than being another dashboard.
Watching a death trains recognition. It does not train the response that replaces it. A Replay Moment takes the situation you died in, drops you into it at the decision point with the same positions and the same utility, and lets you play it — repeatedly, until the answer is automatic. That is a different activity from review, and it is the one that changes what your hands do at 2000 milliseconds of pressure. Replaying a death vs rewatching the VOD makes the case properly.
Which should you use today?
- You want a trend line across a season. Use a stats platform. A demo viewer will not give you that and pretending otherwise would waste your evening.
- You lost a close half and want to know where. Open the demo. Jump to the rounds that swung the score, not the rounds you remember — memory is biased toward the deaths that felt unfair.
- You have a stat you do not understand. Use both: the number to find the rounds, the viewer to see what they looked like. ADR, KAST and opening duels explains which numbers are worth acting on.
- You keep dying the same way. Neither a number nor a rewatch fixes that. Turn it into a playable moment.
What this page does not claim
It does not compare feature lists, pricing or accuracy against any other product, and that is deliberate. Checked on 2 August 2026, the marketing pages of the major CS2 stats platforms render client-side or refuse automated requests, so anything written here about their current feature set would be recalled from memory rather than verified — and a comparison you cannot check is worth less than no comparison. What is stated above is the category distinction, which is stable, plus behaviour of this product that you can verify by using it.
Two further limits, stated because they are real. Playback runs at integer-tick precision, so sub-tick command ordering inside a tick is not recovered, and the in-game client remains the reference for exact fidelity. And nothing here is an automated coaching verdict: the viewer shows you what the demo recorded and leaves the interpretation to you. What a demo analyzer can and cannot tell you draws that line in full.
FAQ
Is Memorin a replacement for a CS2 stats platform?
No, and it is not trying to be. A stats platform aggregates many matches to answer whether you are improving. A 3D demo viewer rebuilds one match in real map geometry to answer why a specific round went wrong. Most people who use both use them for different questions.
Can I open a Leetify match link in Memorin?
Yes. A Leetify match link is one of the recognised import formats, alongside FACEIT matchroom links, CS2 share codes and direct demo URLs. Paste it into the import box and the match is resolved, fetched and rebuilt as a 3D replay.
What can a 3D demo viewer show that a stats platform cannot?
Geometry. A statistic records that you died holding an angle; standing in that position in rebuilt map geometry shows whether the angle offered cover from the second direction, whether a box changed your head level, and what the attacker could see of you. Position numbers alone cannot answer that.
Do I need an account to watch a demo in 3D?
Shared moment links, the daily moment and the published professional matches are open with no account. Importing or uploading your own demo needs a signed-in account, because parsing and storing a demo costs server resources.
